Baba Dogo Ward: Members of the Community Action Group meet to deliberate on the key emerging issues in the ward

On the 28th May, 2018 Sauti Yetu organized a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) involving groups trained on the Sauti Yetu toolkit and some community leaders.

On the 28th May, 2018 Sauti Yetu organized a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) involving groups trained on the Sauti Yetu toolkit and some community leaders who had initially volunteered to be community action group members with an aim of reconstituting a community action group (CAG) in Baba Dogo ward Ruaraka Sub County Nairobi. The FGD was held at Shalom Church Hall.

Objectives of the Focused Group Discussion:

  1. To reconstitute and re-induct community action group members in Baba Dogo ward who will follow-up on key issues of concern in the ward and,
  2. To prioritize Key developmental issues that emerged from the previous joint community forum which are affecting the community in the Ward and initiate a follow up process mechanisms for resolution.

The focus Group Discussion was interactive with participants getting to reflect on their and those of the immediate duty bearers in the ward.

Participants were taken through the concept of community action group.

Participants also used the platform to deliberate on the current situation of the ward in reference to a report of a joint community forum held in the month of November 2017 and the prioritized projects in the 2018-2022 Nairobi county integrated development plan (CIDP). They highlighted key priority issues that needed to be addressed by the duty bearers and allocated themselves the issues they are to follow up.

The members of the community action group resolved to meet the Ruaraka sub-county administrator on Wednesday the 30/5/2012 for introduction.  The team will also be meeting on a monthly basis to review the progress and status of each service delivery issues that have been identified.
